Malvern Link URC supports the Korsgrens
The Korsgrens are a missionary family; Judith and her 3 children – Michael, Lydia and Jonah. The family is church-planting in San Isidro, a poor area near Incarnacion in Paraguay, South America. In addition to discipling new Christians Judith reaches out into the local community in various ways. The pictures also shows Judith’s husband, Roger, who passed away earlier this year.
Judith is facilitating and co-ordinating a women’s project. The goals are to help women find sources of employment and their own independent income; to break isolation and prevent depression and to facilitate positive relationships between women in the area. This achieved through the delivery of 2 courses: Confectionery and Leatherwork. Judith also runs an exercise class for women.
The family run holiday clubs and regular Sunday School work with around 50 children aged 6 – 14 years.
Judith also act as coaches
The term coaching typically refers to methods of helping others to improve, develop/learn new skills, find personal success, achieve aims and to manage life changes and personal challenges. Coaching is the use of powerful questions which enable people to analyse their situation from different perspectives, formulate goals for change and derive a plan comprised of small steps which will help them to get there.
